This Friday, South Korea reported more recoveries from the coronavirus (COVID-19) than new infections for the first time since its outbreak. This is an indication that the epidemic may be slowing in the country.

While 110 cases were reported, 177 patients were released from hospitals, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC). Of the latest 110 cases, 61 were from the hard-hit southeastern city of Daegu.

Good Neighbors continues to provide emergency aid to those in need focusing on the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area in South Korea, one of the worst-affected countries in the Coronavirus pandemic.

While major events are being suspended and people are being cautioned to avoid mass gatherings over 250 people, there are signs of progress: more than half of the world's 128,000 people infected have already recovered. The Public Health Agency of Canada says the risk associated with COVID-19 is low for the general population.

So far our event is still confirmed for May 27. We are monitoring the news and the recommendations of government authorities and health officials to keep you updated if anything changes.
